Providers of investment
services in Malta are subject to regulation under the investment Services
Act. The definition of investment services includes, among other
things, acting as manager in relation to a Collective Investment Scheme
and offering investment advice. The Investment Services Act requires
persons providing investment services in or from within Malta to have a
valid investment services licence. In deciding whether or not to
issue a licence, the MFSC pays particular regard to the protection of the
public, the protection of the reputation of Malta, and the best economic
interests of Malta. |
